Positivity rate declines enormously, recovery rate touches 93.5 pc: DC B’gam

BUDGAM: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza on Tuesday said that the COVID-19 Positivity rate has witnessed a massive decline in the district besides the recovery rate is also improving each passing day.
The DDC said this while briefing the media about the COVID situation in the district.
Divulging the details, the DDC said that from Ist of April, 2021, as many as 13,662 positive cases were reported in the district till date, out of these 12,685 have recovered and now there are only 999 active Positive cases.
He said the recovery rate of COVID Positive cases has reached 93.55 percent, and the positivity rate has come down gradually. Keeping the status of last week in view, the positivity rate remained stagnant in between 4 to 4.3 percent, now since the last 2 days it has gone down more and presently it is at 2.3 percent, he added.
The DC said that the situation has improved enormously with regard to all parameters as since the last 3 days there is no report of any death due to the pandemic.
He said so far since the second half of March, 79 people have died due to the pandemic in the district. He also said that there are 120 containment zones all across the district at present and the report of positive cases from containment zones has also gone down, and stands at 23.2 percent.
Mirza once again appealed to the general public that the danger is not averted yet, it is still looming around, and we all have to remain vigilant, follow SOPs and guidelines besides adhering to other precautions.
