JAMMU/KATHUA: Police on Wednesday arrested four bootleggers and seized 250 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
As per details, acting on reliable information regarding sale of illicit Desi liquor & illegal sale, a team led by SI Dilwar Kumar Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak and under guidance of SHO Domana Insp Mahesh Sharma and under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma, arrested two bootleggers namely Sunil Kumar, son of Kundan Lal and Dharmveer Singh, son of Parshotam Lal, both residents of Gadi Garh Lower at Patta Chungi Chowk and recovered 100 bottles of illicit liquor (180 ml each) from their possession.
Meanwhile, a team led by SI Vijay Kumar Incharge Police Post Basantpur under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua Sukhdev Singh during Naka checking duty under its jurisdictional area near Basantpur, intercepted a suspicious car (JK08F-6190). During checking, 150 bottles of Desi Whisky (180 ml each) were recovered from possession of two accused namely Ranjeet Singh, son of Dhananter Singh, resident of Ward No 13, Kathua and Rohit Singh, son of Kulbir Singh, resident of Ward No 10, Kathua. The duo was arrested and FIR No 77/2021 under section 48(a) of Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Lakhanpur.
