5 Kanals of encroached land retrieved by Forest Department

JAMMU: In a anti encroachment drive, team of Jammu Forest Division led by Rakeshwar Singh, Range Officer Jammu, Rakeshwar Singh Kurhan Block Forest Officer Bahu, Salamt Ali BO Chowadi, Rakesh Dubey BO Bajalta, Maqbool Hussain BO anti encroachment team along with other forest field staff on Monday removed encroachment over 5 Kanals of Forest land falling in Compartment No: 65/B of Village Dwara and dismantled two tin sheds in an anti encroachment drive illegally raised by Hashim Din, son of Shabh Din and Tahir, son of Fazal Din resident of Dwara.
As per press release, upon the request of Forest Department, Anshul Garg Deputy Commissioner Jammu & Chandan Kohli, SSP Jammu have deputed Shiv Kumar Naib Tehsildar, as Duty Magistrate and Police personnel led by Vikram Kumar SDPO & Kirti Sharma Inspector SHO Bagh-e-Bahu to tackle law and order situation.
Despite resistance the situation was handled with the assistance of police and two illegal tin sheds constructed on forest land was dismantled and 5 Kanal of Forest land was retrieved.
Further, the forest area was also secured by fencing and plantation.
The higher officers including Dr. Mohit Gera Pr.CCF J&K (HOFF), K. Ramesh Kumar, CCF Jammu and CF East Circle Samuel Changkija appreciated the efforts of the officials and directed to take all the measures to prevent encroachment on Forest Land.
