GDC Nagrota holds story-writing competition

NAGROTA: To commemorate 75 years of India’s freedom struggle “Azadika Amrut Mahotsav”, Govt . Degree College Nagrota organised an Inter- college short story writing competition, under the able patronage of Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, principal of the college. To highlight the role of women in shaping the society, the theme for the story writing was Woman- The Shero.
The first position was clinched by Shiena from GCW Parade, second by Umika Sambyal, also from GCW Parade and the third by Partha Khajuria from SPMR College. Students were judged according to their command on language and the originality. The winners were awarded e – certificates. The judges of the event were Prof. Anjali Mahajan and DR. Ritu Dewan. Principal DR. Attar Singh Kotwal appreciated this initiative of the Women Development Cell to highlight the inner strength of women, as their role and contribution towards the freedom struggle of India to attain freedom cannot be forgotten. He also applauded the creative skills of the participants from various colleges of Jammu Division. The event was organised by the Women Development Cell of the college comprising of Prof Anjali Mahajan, DR. RituDewan DR. Avtaar Singh and Prof Manisha Kumari.
