UDHAMPUR/KATHUA/JAMMU: Continuing its war against drugs, police on Wednesday arrested six narco smugglers and recovered heroin from their possession.
As per the details, a party of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp Chaman Gorka SHO Udhampur under supervision of Anwar-ul-Haq Addl SP Udhampur and Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs Udhampur, laid a Naka at Jakhani Naka point for checking of vehicles. During checking, Police party apprehended two suspects who were roaming in suspicious manner. During search, 200 grams Heroin (Chita) was recovered from their possession. On enquiry they disclosed their identities as Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Ashraf, resident of Khairi, Udhampur and Amir Farooq Khan, son of Farooq Ahmed Khan, resident of Sairi Bazar, Bhadarwah.
FIR No. 255/2021 under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur. Meanwhile, a police team led by Insp Vijay Kumar under supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Shammi Kumar, while on Naka checking duty at Kathua, apprehended two suspects. On checking, 5 gm Heroin like contraband was recovered from the accused, who were identified as Vikas Potra alias Honey, son of Bishamber Lal, resident of Ward No. 17 Kathua and Sukhmeet Kumar alias Abhi, son of Kewal Krishan, resident of Chack Desa Singh Ward No 2, Kathua.
The duo was arrested and FIR No. 326/2021 under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered against them at Police Station Kathua and started further investigation started.
In another incident, R S Pura Police also nabbed two narco smugglers and recovered 10 gm heroin from their possession. They were identified as Parven Kumar, resident of R S Pura and Rohit Sharma, resident of Shatrayian.
