Inderjeet Khajuria, Chairman, All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association: We welcomed the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold a meeting with the mainstream leaders. We believe dialogue is the only way to solve issues. But one thing is also clear that the Centre will impose its decisions on Jammu and Kashmir. Delimitation Commission is here and hope the process will be completed soon and elections will be conducted. Moreover, we are looking forward to development and peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
NCP Chief, Kamal Gupta: All Party Meet was a good decision taken by PM Modi. All leaders shared their views and flagged issues of immense public importance. The meeting can be described as start of political process in Jammu and Kashmir. But it is sad that after the abrogation of Article 370, nothing much changed in Jammu, except high headed bureaucracy, which is working at whims. People are suffering and the BJP Government at the Centre is playing a mute spectator. Only fake promises and nothing else. We welcome delimitation process and elections to be held after that. Elections are the need of the hour to pave way for an elected government.
K K Sharma, Ikkjutt Party General Secretary: 24 June was a Black Day for Jammu. All party Meeting turned out to be totally a Kashmir Centered platform. Kashmiri leaders dominated the meeting and by engaging with the communalists, the BJP has compromised its ideology and failed the people of Jammu and the whole nation. The issues of Jammu were not discussed in the meeting. We demand a separate state of Jammu so that people can play their designated role in governance without being subjugated or treated as second class citizens. Moreover, delimitation needs to be done on 2021 census and not on 2011 census. They are just befooling people and nothing else.
