Ladakh records 6 new Covid cases

Leh: Ladakh recorded six new COVID-19 cases that took the infection tally to 20,246 officials said on Sunday.

Eight people were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the infection, taking the overall recoveries to 19,937, they said.

While three Covid patients were discharged in Leh, five were discharged in Kargil, officials said.

Of the new cases, five were reported from Leh, and one from Kargil, officials said.

No Covid-related death has been recorded in the past 24 hours, officials said.

The death toll currently stands at 206, with the worst-hit Leh accounting for 148 fatalities and 58 fatalities registered in Kargil, they said.

A total of 2,292 samples were tested in Ladakh, including 1,265 from Leh and 1,027 from Kargil and were found negative on Saturday.

The total number of active cases in Ladakh stands at 103, including 81 in Leh and 22 in Kargil district, officials added. (PTI)
