STATE TIMES NEWS Sunderbani: Congress on Sunday blamed the LG administration of dancing to the tunes of BJP and RSS and ignoring the great leaders and martyrs of our nation like Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and great stalwart of freedom struggle Sardar Patel in naming institutions after Leaders and workers of ruling party and selected martyrs of choice . Paying rich tributes in an impressive function at Sunderbani, JKPCC chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma questioned why no institution is named after Indira Gandhi who was martyred as Prime Minister in office. The Iron lady was a terror for the enemies of India and divided Pakistan thus creating Bangladesh fifty years ago. Atal Behari Vajpayee gave her the honour of the Avtar of Mata Durga ,after victory of the country in Bangladesh . The college in Sunderbani is being named after Atal but nothing after Gandhi , who was Avtar of Durga as per Vajpayee. We respect Atal too and no objection to naming of some institution after his name but why ignore the prime minister who was martyred in office. Another prime minister who too was martyred, Rajiv Gandhi, but did not find place in the list while Shyama Prasad Mukherjee finds name for Degree college Kalakote. Remembering the contributions of Congress stalwart and first Dy prime minister and Home minister Sardar Bhallavbhai Patel, he questioned why his name is missing in the list , if BJP really respects him and his ideology. Sardar patel shall be remembered for his great contributions including for banning RSS after assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that ignoring such great leaders and real martyrs is a blunder with the history and fraud with future generations .He said that there should not any politics on the question of martyrs and recognising the contributions of stalwart. He cautioned the LG administration to draw a fair mechanism abd criteria without any political or other bias and don’t be selective in choosing martyrs, gallantary award winners and the eminent persons for naming institutions and placed. He also questioned why the gallantary award winners in the district Rajouri like Yadhunath Singh PVC , Brig Usman MVC, Hav Deputy Lal and others ,the first few gallantary aeardees of independent India were ignored in the district Rajouri. Similarly the elected stalwarts like first assembly and member of Constituent Assembly Com Krishan Dev Sethi , Master Beli Ram were ignored in Nowshera and Nand Kumar Vaid a veteran politician of Sunderbsni did not find mention in the list while a local BJP leader of the area finds place for naming a city school . It is not understandable who takes decisions and how and probably on the list of some BJP/RSS activists. How can the LG administration ignore the real heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives fighting for unity and territorial integrity of the country, he questioned expressing resenment . The Congress, youth congress and NSUI workers passed a resolution seeking redrawing of the list and naming subderbani college and Higher secondary after Indira Gandhi and Sardar Patel and likewise considering other martyrs, gallantary awardees, and deserving eminent personalities on a fair criteria. Presidents of BCC Sunderbani NC Sharma Retd DFO, Devak- Tirth Ram , Siot – Ajit Singh and large numbers of senior Congress leaders and office bearers attended the function and paid floral tributes.
