JAMMU, Nov 30: Reiterating its result oriented ‘Sports Policy’, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) today once again urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to introduce a healthy ‘Sports Policy’ as promised by him a few days back.
The JKPYC organized an interaction programme with the budding players of Silambam Martial Arts game at Raipur Domana Constituency today, wherein former Minister and senior Congress leader, Mula Ram; Uday Bhanu Chib, president JKPYC and Hari Singh Chib, DCC Jammu Rural president honoured the budding players along with Jatin Kumar (Coach) and Rampal, vice-chairman of Gomanhasa Municipal Corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, the former Minister said that sport is not limited to the practice of physical activities, rather it is a recreational space where a healthy lifestyle is promoted through physical and mental development. “It is a place where individuals converge to improve their social skills, strengthen cultural values and adapt to rules”, he added.
Uday resented the lack of sports policies in J&K due to which the youth are lagging behind in national sports. He said that in such a dismal scenario there is a dire need to bring result oriented ‘Sports Policy’ for promoting the significant cause of sports and the sportspersons as promised by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
Hari Singh Chib said that the unscrupulous elements were luring youth towards drugs making the situation alarming. He asserted that keeping the youth involved in sports can stop them from indulging in such practice.
