Yudhvir, Priya start Langar at Lakhdata Bazar

‘Efforts must be made to strengthen secular fabric of Jammu region’

JAMMU: J&K BJP Vice President, Yudhvir Sethi on Monday called for collective efforts for steering the Union Territory to the pinnacles of development, progress, peace and prosperity. He said the BJP Government at the Centre is endeavoring for uplift of the people of all the three regions of the State, irrespective of caste, creed and colour.
This was stated by Sethi while addressing a gathering during a Langar organized by Hanuman Mandir Lakhdata Bazar Committee here at Lakhdata Bazar. Senior BJP leader and former minister, Priya Sethi; BJP East Mandal President Parveen Kerni and Convener Ward 11, Amit Mahajan were also present.
Sethi, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that the BJP Government under the stewardship of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has taken several initiatives for the welfare of people of the three regions of J&K. He solicited the cooperation of the people in realizing the dream of making the state economically vibrant and prosperous.
Describing Jammu as a symbol of communal harmony and secularism, he said all efforts must be made to strengthen the secular fabric of the region, which is pluralistic in nature. “Jammu has all along fought the forces which have been trying to create communal disharmony or promote divisiveness”, he asserted. He appealed to one and all to uphold the traditional values of brotherhood and coexistence and together identify, isolate and defeat the elements who are bent upon disturbing peace and harmony in Jammu. Later, Sethi interacted with the traders of Lakhdata Bazar and listened to their issues. Referring to the demands put forth by the traders of the area, Sethi assured that he will take up all their issues with the authorities concerned for their early redressal.
During the Langar, SHO Zaheer Manhas was also honored for their services.
Others who were present include Kartar Gupta, Amit Luthra, Rakesh Mahajan, Satpal Suri, Amit Gupta, Jain and Ankur Suri.
