Jammu Citizens’ Forum meets, discusses issues of public importance

JAMMU: Credited with acknowledging the huge services of the army, security forces and police towards the nation, the Jammu Citizens’ Forum (JCF) on Sunday held a meeting and discussed issues related to public importance and future projects.

During the meeting, which was attended by Raj Daluja, Jammu Bar Association President Adv M K Bhardwaj, Jammu Press Club Vice President and Team Jammu Chairman Zorawar Singh, Ex-Presidents of the Press Club Manu Srivatsa and Ashwani Kumar, General Secretary Press Club Dinesh Kumar, Ex-HoD Nephrology Department, GMC Jammu, Dr S K Bali, President Chamber of Traders Federation, Neeraj Anand, Brig Sukhdev Singh, Youngbites Editor-in-Chief Vijay Gupta and journalist Vivek Sharma.

Zorawar Singh, Manu Srivatsa and Ashwani Kumar suggested various measures to be taken up for the upliftment of rural with special focus of conservation of the heritage sites including religious places and to work for the promotion of art and culture.

Adv M K Bhardwaj, Dr S K Bali and Neeraj Anand also shared their views and called for expanding the societal role in development of various sectors in Jammu by invoking the pro-active role of the concerned departments. Brig Sukhdev Singh suggested to take up issues with the administration so that general masses, especially the youth could be benefited.

Earlier, the meeting recalled the role of Late Advocate B S Slathia, founder member of Jammu Citizens Forum, and paid tributes to him for his contribution. The Jammu Citizens’ Forum members also welcomed Jammu Bar President Adv M K Bhardwaj and Press Club Jammu General Secretary Dinesh Kumar for joining the forum to play their active role in the initiatives being pursued by the Jammu Citizens Forum.

Appreciating the sense of commitment of all the participants in taking forward the mission of the forum for the overall emancipation of the society, Raj Daluja assured the support.

Pertinent to mention that Jammu Citizens’ Forum has been in the forefront for past several years to honour and acknowledge services of army, security forces and police towards the nation, both in terms of upholding national integrity and foiling terrorism.

Apart from holding seminars, the Jammu Citizens’ forum had organised an impressive Tiranga Rally in Jammu City and spearheaded a crusade against alarming illegal settlement of Rohingya immigrants in Jammu.

Moreover, in various high profile seminars organised by Jammu Citizens’ Forum, the ace diplomat G Parthasarthi and a leading defence expert Lt Gen Ata Hasnian delivered key note addresses on various issues confronting the nation.

Jammu Citizens Forum also generated awareness about likely role of political parties in evolution of democracy based on deeply ingrained nationalism. Inter alia, the Forum also organised various events of immense national and public importance.

Having all kudos for Indian Army’s valour and doctors of Jammu for their role as frontline warriors, Jammu Citizens’ Forum, on July 9, 2020, honoured COVID-19 fighters including doctors, para medical staffers at a function held at auditorium of JK Public School Kunjwani. GOC Tiger Division Major General V B Nair was the Chief Guest during the felicitation function.
