Delegation of SPIC MACAY calls on Sinha

SRINAGAR, Aug 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to all on the momentous occasion of 76th Independence Day.
In a message, the Lt Governor said, the country is scripting an illustrious chapter in this Amrit Kaal Khand.
“I pay my respectful homage to all the great men and women of our Freedom Movement. I salute the Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel, soldiers, jawans of Indian Army, paramilitary forces, who laid down their lives to protect the sovereignty and integrity of this great nation. All of us must strive for the realization of the dream of making a peaceful, progressive and prosperous Jammu Kashmir,” the Lt Governor said.
In this Amrit Kaal Khand, let us all strengthen our resolve to build a fear-free, corruption-free and terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir, a J&K which our forefathers had dreamt of; where violence has no place, where social and religious harmony form the very core of the society; where women, children, youth, aged, poor, underprivileged have equal rights, live a quality life and are equal partners in India’s developmental journey.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan here.
The delegation led by Dr Kiran Seth, Founder SPIC MACAY; Rashmi Malik, Chairperson; Rajiv Giri, former Treasurer; Prof Rakesh Sehgal, Director NIT; Prof Muzaffar Ahmed Bhat, Principal GDC Anantnag & Advisor SPIC MACAY, briefed the Lt Governor about the activities and motto of the organisation.
The members of the delegation discussed with the Lt Governor the promotion of art and culture, classical music, dance, folk art, crafts etc in Jammu Kashmir.
While interacting with the members of the delegation, the Lt Governor praised the efforts of the organisation for promoting the values of our rich cultural heritage amongst the youth. He assured of all possible assistance from the UT administration.
