JAMMU: The young Indian team led by J&K boy Kartik Sharma as skipper on Thursday qualified for the quarterfinals stages of the ongoing 14th Asian Men’s Under-18 Volleyball Championship at Tehran in Iran.
In their last league tie, India blanked Korea 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-21) thereby qualified for the knock-out stages of the competition, reports reaching here informed.
Now, India shall take on Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals on August 20 at 10.30 (IST).
Dhurvil Patel, Shekhar Turan, Kabilan and Yaman Khatik (Libero) played excellently throughout in support with rest of the team. Kartik with his magnificent performance is leading Indian team to the knockout stage.
The office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K headed by Raj Daluja Patron-in-chief have hailed/congratulated the entire team for their splendid performance in the International Volleyball Championship to glorify the name of India and JK UT in volleyball sports arena.
