Telangana, particularly Hyderabad, is set for a political showdown on September 17, when BJP-led central government kicks off year-long celebrations to mark 75 years of the liberation of Telangana from Nizam rule and the TRS regime in the state scrambling to make political capital by observing the day as Telangana National Integration Day. With assembly elections scheduled next year, the Hyderabad State’s merger with the Indian Union in 1948, got added political traction with the state capital set to witness twin public meetings by the KCR-led party and BJP on September 17.
