Amid fast approaching party president’s election, Congress Thursday announced that election will also be held for the apex body, Congress Working Committee. The elections to the CWC were last held in 1997 at the AICC’s Calcutta plenary session. Since then, the plenary sessions have been authorising the party president to reconstitute the CWC instead of inviting nominations.
