JAMMU: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) Jammu has welcomed decision taken by UT administration led by LG Manoj Sinha to include birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh in the list of gazetted holidays to be observed in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a press statement issued here on Friday, the members of the Sabha led by President K K Khosa, recalled exemplary contributions of Maharaja, who not only signed accession of J&K with Union of India despite immense pressure by British. “Qualities of head and heart of Maharaja are well known just as his other attributes of justice and fair-play. To a reply about which religion he belonged to, his reply was that the religion of a ruler is providing equitable justice to all his subjects, without any kind of discrimination or ill will,” said KPS members, adding that Kashmiri Pandits will remain ever indebted to the great son of the soil.
