HR Conclave 5.0 concludes at IIM Jammu

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, carried on with its marquee event after the successful first day of HR Conclave 5.0.
Day 2 of the HR Conclave 5.0, started off with the keynote address by Dr. Prem Singh, Group CHRO, JK Organization. Dr. Singh inspired the audience with his keynote speech and shared his knowledge with the students. He encouraged the students to focus on learning during their formative years and prepare themselves to enter the workforce as professionals. The insightful words of Dr. Prem Singh -“What matters is what you do with the resources that you have got”-set the tone for further panel discussions.
The event proceeded with a panel discussion on the topic “Psychological Safety at Workplace: Inculcating DEIB.” Dr. Pankaj Agarwal, Associate Professor, IIM Jammu, moderated the fourth panel discussion, which was presided over by Sahil Nayar, National Head – Early Careers Recruiting & TA Transformation, KPMG, Harsh Dave, CEO and Co-founder, ASTRA Labs, Priya Ranjan Kumar, Vice President- HR, JSW Steel, and Suvro Raychaudhuri, Director- HR, CGI India. The panel spoke about the importance of a psychologically safe workplace and the measures taken to implement DIEB at the organizational level. The conversation also turned to the significance of the sense of community at work, which fuels the shift towards psychological safety and real inclusion. As a long-term project, DEIB is a crucial component of the organization, and the panel agreed that it should be implemented at all levels. This was the consensus reached by the panel as the discussion came to an end.
The conversation was followed by another enriching discussion on the topic “R&D in HR- Transformation at Workplace” by the Panel 5.The panel consisted of Vishwanadh Raju, Head India Talent Acquisition – Dun & Bradstreet who also moderated the panel, Vinay Agrawal, Global Head – Business HR, Tech Mahindra, Priyanka Jain, Sr. Director- People & Talent, ZestMoney, Kushal Bhat, Director HR, RazorPay, Ashish Bhalla, Head- Campus Relations, HCL Technologies, and Bhavesh Patel, Head Talent Acquisition – MIG, CGI. A discussion of current trends in the HR sector served as the starting point for the discussion. The conversation also focused on the approaching reality of a workplace that is constantly changing and the necessity for R&D and HR to work together to determine the best course of action. The panel opinionated that we should look beyond the traditional ideas of HR and that it is shifting towards supporting and enhancing the business.
The discussion of the last panel, Panel 6, revolved around the topic “Conflict Resolution: Need of the Hour”. The panel was presided over by Mehak Mahajan, CRED, Joshua David M.D., Managing Talent Acquisition- India Campus Hiring, Mphasis, Rahul Purushothaman, Associate Principal and Head, University Hirings and Engagements, TheMathCompany, Vishal Bansal, Head Talent Acquisition, Lenovo and Samsundar Palaparthi, Global Lead – Talent Acquisition, UPL Limited who also served as the moderator. The panel discussed conflict management strategies and how to use them in a professional setting. The panelists concurred later that it is imperative for HRs to identify the conflict’s root cause and understand both its potential for positive and negative outcomes. They also urged the students to not be afraid of failing and to always strive for the best.
The Valedictory Ceremony concluded IIM Jammu’s flagship event wherein Dr. Baljeet Singh, Co-Chairperson of Placements, IIM Jammu reaffirmed the succinct report of the success of HRC 5.0 and the agenda for HR 6.0 Conclave “HR in dynamics Business Environments.” Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean of Academics at IIM Jammu, talked about bolstering the relationship between IIM Jammu, IIT Jammu, and AIIMS Jammu. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director at IIM Jammu, and Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director at IIT Jammu, talked about how the collaboration between the three institutions will assist each institute in growing and developing at an even greater pace and help develop Jammu & Kashmir. Prof. Shakti Gupta, Director at AIIMS Jammu, talked about how the AIIMS mission of developing medical education, teaching, and patient care is developing the society and motivating the students to take steps further to grow in life.
Dr. Pankaj Agarwal, Associate Professor, IIM Jammu, concluded the event by expressing gratitude to all the revered panellists.
