Muhammad Yousuf, a Kashmiri footwear maker, keeps centuries-old Pulhoor — made with paddy straw — tradition alive. With the help of the straws, he not only makes footwear but several other items including mats, covers for cups and baskets. Yousuf also works at the School of Design in Kashmir.
