Karan Singh inaugurates Silver Door, Donation Counter in Raghunath Temple

JAMMU, Feb 24: Chairman Trustee of J&K Dharmarth Trust, Dr. Karan Singh along with Ritu Singh today inaugurated the newly installed Silver Door at Holy Sanctum Sanctorum of Shree Raghunath Ji Temple.

On this occasion, Ajay Gandotra, Trust president along with Ashok Kumar Sharma (SSP Retd.), secretary; Varinder Jamwal, additional secretary; Dr. Shiv Kumar Raina, chairman of J&K Dharmarth Trust Advisory Committee and staff of the Trust gave a warm welcome to the Chairman Trustee by presenting him bouquet amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras by the Temple Priests.
After inaugurating the Silver Door, Dr. Karan Singh paid obeisance at Shri Raghunath Temple and prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of J&K.
He also performed Aarti at Shri Raghunath Temple and Pooja at Natraj Ji Temple within the premises and also visited various temples there.
The Chairman Trustee also interacted with the senior functionaries of the Trust and asked them to work with more zeal and dedication and make all possible efforts in providing adequate facilities to the visiting pilgrims.
Dr. Singh along with Ritu Singh also inaugurated donation counter established in the memory of Maharani Yashorajya Laxmi in the temple premises.
The Chairman Trustee also visited the Shree Ranbir Sanskrit Research Institute and Library in the temple premises and monitored the ongoing work of digitization of rare manuscript by a professional team deputed from New Delhi.
He said this library has a treasure of rare and precious manuscripts for the scholars of the country, especially those in pursuing research studies in Sanskrit.
Later, Dr. Karan Singh also inaugurated the Senior Citizen Library in Shree Ranbir Sanskrit Research Institute and Library complex. He mentioned that this library has a collection of more than six thousand books.
Dr. Singh said that senior citizens are the most precious component of the society as they have devoted the precious part of their life in building the society and the nation and in this phase of their life it is the prime duty of one and all to take utmost care of this section of the society.
S.M Shani, former Director Tourism and Convener INTACH Jammu Chapter; Arvind Kotwal, Convener INTACH; B.L Bhat, Chairman Nagdandi Ashram and many other prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
