BJP to form governments in Tripura, Nagaland; hung assembly in Meghalaya: Exit polls

The BJP is poised to retain office in Tripura and Nagaland while the National People’s Party (NPP), led by chief minister Conrad Sangma, is the front-runner in Meghalaya, exit polls suggested on Monday after elections concluded in Nagaland and Meghalaya. In Tripura, three different exit polls were unanimous in giving a majority to BJP and its ally, the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT), in the 60-member assembly.
