Poonch/Jammu: Three drug peddlers including a former terrorist were arrested along with three kilograms of heroin near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Sunday, a police official said.
As per details, Police Poonch along with army and CRPF launched a joint operation during the intervening night of 25/26 Feb, 2023 in Degwar Maldialan, Noor Kot and Nakarkot border area in Police Station Poonch and in the morning, the security forces achieved a major success by recovering 3.344 kilograms of Heroin like substance (Chitta) from Degwar Maldialan.
Three persons has been arrested which have been Mohd Aslam, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Degwar, Maldialan, Mohd. Jahangir, son of Mohd Sadeeq and Mohd Bashir, son of Habib Ullah, resident of Nakarkot Degwar Maldialan. Some more arrests and recoveries cannot be ruled out in the instant case. In this connection police registered a case FIR NO 28/ 2023 under section 8,21 and 29 of NDPS Act, section 13and 18 of UAPA Act in police station Poonch and investigation of the case has been taken up.
