Rahul Gandhi sees love in terrorists’ eyes, fear in Modi’s eyes and winks eyes in Lok Sabha

Teri Aankhoon Ke Siwa Duniya Mein Kya Rakha Hai! Popular 1969 Bollywood lyric in ‘Chirag’ is favourite with Congressmen across the country these days. Reason: Rahul Gandhi’s magical eyes, which play wonders.
Rahul made eye to eye contact with terrorists in Kashmir during ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ but nothing happened. “…They give me this look and I give them this look back and then we carry on. Nothing happens…” he lectured to a select gathering at Cambridge University on March 4, 2023. What an amazing Aankh Micholi?
Disqualified Member Parliament had an eye contact with the Prime Minister also when he saw Narendra Modi scared. “I have seen it in his eyes. That is why, first the distraction and then the disqualification,” he said to media persons on March 25, 2023.
There is indeed some magical power in his eyes. The nation has seen miracles of his gifted eyes which winked during a Lok Sabha debate over four years back. If Rahul saw fear in the PM’s eyes in March 2023, Modi had seen mischief in his eyes on February 13, 2019 when he told the Lok Sabha, “I saw for the first time that there are Aankhon ki Gustakhiyan in the house.” The reference was to the now-famous ‘hug’ when the seated Prime Minister was visibly caught off guard by Rahul Gandhi walking to his seat and hugging him profusely. What followed was ‘Aankh Micholi’. As he returned to his seat, Rahul winked at the then fellow Congress parliamentarian Jyotiraditya Scindia (now a BJP minister), sitting next to him. “Ankhoon Ankhoon Mein Baat Hone Do…” It is different that the Prime Minister’s wit suibsequently caused a huge embarrassment to 48 year old ‘young’ Gandhi when Modi remarked, “For the first time I realized the difference between the embrace and someone throwing themselves at you.”
The Gandhi scion is a wonderful politician despite his party’s Leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury tagging term ‘Pappu’ with him while cornering the BJP. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a strong reservation to an Honourable Member of Parliament being called ‘Pappu’. Nice piece of wit!
With Rahul Gandhi being disqualified from the Lok Sabha following conviction by a Surat court for his ‘defamatory’ remarks on Modis, the house will certainly miss the ‘lighter side of politics’ but Indians at large will have many such occasions to have fun, unless the sentence is upheld by the appellate courts.
Laughter is a healthy sign of life and the people have the right to laugh. The Congressmen must be proud of their ‘youth icon’ for his sense of humor, not the nuisance, as some jealous adversaries make out.
The Congress has got a Deedawar in Rahul Gandhi after many many years. And, the BJP must certainly be elated with the presence of Junior Gandhi on the country’s political scene. He is ruling party’s best bet and an ace political asset.
