LEH, June 10: A delegation comprising B. Ed and CTET candidates aspiring to become government teachers led by Dachen Dolker called on Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr.) B.D Mishra (Retd).
Principal Secretary, School Education, Sanjeev Khirwar was also present in the meeting.
Dachen demanded conducting of the examination for recruitment of district cadre teaching posts of School Education Department at the earliest.
She informed about the document verification drive conducted by LAHD-SSRB Leh for the posts on March 31, 2023 and also demanded for 5 per cent relaxation for candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC and other reserved categories in CTET qualifying marks and considering of 55 per cent as qualifying marks for candidates belonging to these categories instead of 60 per cent.
Sanjeev Khirwar informed that 5 per cent relaxation has already been sanctioned by School Education Department for candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC and other reserved categories in CTET qualifying marks and the official notification in this regard would be issued within few days.
He also informed that the best attempts of the candidates, who have appeared in CTET examination multiple times, will be considered for recruitment of district cadre teaching posts.
LG instructed Khirwar to take necessary steps in this regard for the benefit of the candidates aspiring for various government teaching posts.
Tashi Namgail, a teacher by profession also called on LG and informed that he joined Education Department in 1987 and worked for ten years until 1997 when his service was terminated unconstitutionally. He also informed that he was reinstated as teacher in 2018 and demanded considering of his past service as regular.
The LG instructed Sanjeev Khirwar to look into the issue and take necessary steps in this regard.
