SRINAGAR: Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday felicitated Haj-2023 pilgrims on successful conduct of their sacred and spiritual pilgrimage.
‘I greet Haj pilgrims on the successful completion of their spiritual and sacred journey as for them it was an emotional and physical challenge that tested their patience and temperament,’ Azad said in a statement.
Eulogising the significance of Haj, Azad affirmed that one of the five pillars of Islam, the pilgrimage teaches us unity, brotherhood and sacrifice.
“The Haj imbibes in us a sense of morality, sacrifice, spiritual salvation and discipline. Let us all pray for acceptance of this sacred pilgrimage,” Azad said.
The former chief minister who established the only Haj House in Jammu and Kashmir at Bemina in Srinagar, sought smooth return of Haj pilgrims to their respective places and asked LG administration in J&K to welcome them on their return by providing all requisite facilities, including transportation after their landing at the airport.
Azad also greeted people on the auspicious Eid ul-Adha or ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ and wished all a blessed celebration.
“No words or wishes can match the amount of sacrifices Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made in obedience and submission to Almighty Allah and Eid ul-Adha commemorates the auspicious and momentous occasion. Let us all pledge to uphold values of humanity and universal brotherhood and pray for acceptance of our wishes and aspirations,” Azad said.
Seeking divine intervention in fostering peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir, Azad while felicitating people on the most revered festival reminded them to remember orphans and destitute who crave for attention and support on such holy occasions and celebrations.
