DGP sanctions scholarship, retirement gift of over Rs 65 lakh

SRINAGAR, July 31: The Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 58 lakh in favour of retiring officers/officials of the Department. He has also sanctioned Rs 7 lakh in favour of 115 wards of serving/deceased police personnel.
A statement said the DGP sanctioned Rs 5.70 lakh in favour of wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of Class 12th during the academic session 2022-23.
It further said that Rs 7200 each has also been sanctioned in favour of 35 students who have secured more than 90% marks while 53 students who have secured 80% and above marks have been given Rs 6000 each.
The DGP has also sanctioned scholarships ranging between Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 in favour of 26 wards of deceased police personnel who are pursuing Primary to Post Graduation level education. The scholarship amount has been given out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Meanwhile, DGP J&K has sanctioned retirement gift of over Rs 1 lakh each in favour of 58 Police personnel of J&K Police who are retiring from services on July 31 after attaining superannuation or opting for voluntary retirement. The retirement gift is given as a token of appreciation for their services to the Department.
