JU organizes placement drive

JAMMU, Sept 14: University of Jammu organised a placement drive across various disciplines.
The drive was planned and executed by the Dean Placement Cell, Prof B K Bajaj in collaboration with the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu.
The Placement drive was conducted with the objective of connecting the students with good educational institutes for their employability. Guru Nanak Institutions from Hyderabad conducted the placement drive for providing job opportunities to the students who are pursuing their academic courses in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Mathematics.
Guru Nanak Institutions is a prominent group of educational institutes located in Hyderabad and serves as the flagship institute of Guru Nanak Institutions (GNI). The institute is recognized as a premier technical institution in South India with NAAC A+ rating. The drive saw an overwhelming response from the offsite campuses of University as well as from the main campus of University of Jammu. Many candidates were shortlisted during the drive.
Prior to the placement drive, Director School of Biotechnology, Prof Sanjana Kaul and Prof B K Bajaj, Dean, Placement Cell, had an interactive session with the employers discussing the creation of platforms for meaningful collaborations, establishment of connections with business organizations to foster meaningful and long-term collaborations for placement of university students and enhancement of the university-industry partnership through campus engagement initiatives.
Prof Bajaj and other members of Placement cell interacted with interviewees before the pre-placement talk by the interview board of Guru Nanak Institutions. Dr Ritu Mahajan and Dr Nisha Kapoor, members Placement Cell, introduced the students to the interview board. Shilpa Chaku, Training and Placement Officer, University of Jammu, registered the students for the interview.
Earlier an offline placement drive was also conducted by the Placement Cell, University of Jammu, with Kandhari Beverages, Bari Brahmana for the final semester students of the School of Biotechnology. The students from Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology program were interviewed in this drive.
