40% now under poverty, highest out-of-school kids in world: New report on Pak’s alarming crisis

The World Bank has reported that over 12.5 million Pakistanis have fallen below the poverty line in the past year, bringing the total number of people living in poverty to 95 million. Pakistan’s poverty rate has risen from 34.2% to 39.4% in just one year. The country also has the lowest per capita income in South Asia and the highest number of out-of-school children in the world.
