A Bengaluru couple sued Airtel for overbilling them Rs 1,03,826 on their international roaming package during a trip to the Maldives. The couple demanded a correction and compensation for the harassment they faced. Airtel argued that the case should be dismissed as it was outside the jurisdiction of the consumer forum in Bengaluru. However, the court ruled in favor of the couple, noting that the forum had the right to hear the plea. The court also directed Airtel to pay compensation and provide a correct detailed bill for the customers during the roaming period.
