NASA’s Hubble space telescope has shared a festive image of a globular cluster resembling the lights of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights. The cluster, known as Liller 1, is located 30,000 light-years away from Earth, near the center of the Milky Way galaxy. It contains tens of thousands to millions of stars, with ages ranging from two billion to 12 billion years old. The image was captured using Hubble’s wide field camera 3, which is sensitive to light wavelengths undetectable by the human eye.
