Cultural Jatha reaching Jammu today for showcasing meaningful events

JAMMU, Nov 14: The ‘Dhai Aakhar Prem: National Cultural Jatha’, is arriving here tomorrow on two-day visit for showcasing cultural events and fostering meaningful interactions.
This was informed by prominent local artists and literary personalities, representing Jammu Chapter of the Cultural Jatha, while addressing a press conference, here today.
The National Cultural Jatha, comprising artists, writers, and activists, is a collaborative effort with progressive, democratic, social, and cultural organizations, as well as individuals dedicated to the cause of humanity.
Starting its transformative journey on September 28, 2023 from Rajasthan and traversing through Bihar, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Orissa, the Jatha is engaging in public dialogue and walking the path of cultural enlightenment. Before its culmination in Delhi on January 30, 2024, the Jatha is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow on two days visit.
“This initiative aims to create a platform for dialogue and artistic expression, emphasizing the importance of cultural movements in fostering positive social change,” said Deepak Kumar, Director Rangyug, who was accompanied by Anil Sehgal, veteran Journalist; Sanjiv Bhasin, Vice President Hindi Sahitya Mandal; Swami Antarnirav, renowned poet and representatives from Dogri Sanstha Jammu and Punjabi Lekhak Sabha.
Informing about the key events in Jammu, Deepak said that on November 15, the activities will commence at 11 a.m. with a procession from Panjbaktar Mandir to Peer Mitha Dargah, followed by another procession from Maharaja Hari Singh Park to Abhinav Theatre at 2:30 p.m.
It will follow a program at K L Sehgal Hall (Abhinav Theatre Complex) at 3:30 p.m, featuring talks on the life and role of Comrade Dhanwantri, an interaction with Prasanna and Tanveer Akhtar, a question/answer session, a song of peace by Seema Anil Sehgal and a performance by the artists of IPTA, Patna.
On November 16, the activities will begin at 11 a.m. with floral tribute to the statue of Comrade Dhanwantri at Dhanwantri Park, Trikuta Nagar. This will be followed by street play performances at Bahu Plaza Complex at 11:15 a.m, at Rani Park Jammu, at 12:45 p.m, and an acting workshop with Prasanna, a renowned theatre director of India, at Rangyug, Lower Dogra Hall Road, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“This workshop offers a platform for interaction, learning, and collaboration, providing a rare chance to engage with the esteemed personality of theatre,” said the organizers of National Cultural Jatha, Jammu Chapter and extended an open invitation to all cultural, theatre, and literary organizations, artists, writers, intellectuals, thespians, and peace activists to join them on this extraordinary journey.
