A labourer in India narrowly escaped being trapped in a tunnel collapse thanks to his smoking habit. Madan Singh was on a break from his 12-hour shift when he saw rocks and soil falling from the tunnel’s roof. He quickly ran towards the entrance, avoiding being trapped by the debris. Singh is now praying for the safe evacuation of his colleagues who remain stranded. Four others managed to escape before the collapse occurred. He narrowly avoiding being trapped behind the debris along with the 40 other labourers.
