JAMMU, Nov 16: Prof Bhupendra N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST -Jammu, along with a team of senior administrators is on a visit to the Western Sydney University, Australia under World Bank &Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project-Institutional Development Plan (NAHEP-IDP).
In a follow up to the signing of MoU between WSU and SKUAST-Jammu, the delegation held detailed meetings with their counterparts at the Australian University in an effort to make the MoU a functional document.
Prof B N Tripathi was joined by Prof Barney Glover, Vice-Chancellor & President, WSU, and Prof Linda Taylor, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) along with other faculty and staff to deliberate on collaboration in academics and research programmes.
Modalities for dual degree programs at undergraduate and postgraduate programs were discussed with a special reference to Agri-Business Management. Restructuring of degree programmes were also discussed to meet the international standards.
They also explored the possibilities of potential opportunities for student and faculty exchange. Apart from academics, potential research areas for collaboration were also explored, such as in fields of biotechnology, Agri-innovation, Agrifoods, protected cultivation, climate resilient agriculture etc.
Prof B N Tripathi expressed that such collaborations will help SKUAST-Jammu to grow at both national and international levels, while providing enhanced opportunities for its students and faculty members.
Prof S K Gupta, Dean, FoH&F; Prof B C Sharma, Dean, FoA and Prof M S Bhadwal, Dean FVSc. & AH, SKUAST -Jammu were also present during the meeting.
