India’s UPI launches in France, read PM Modi’s message

India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is now available at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated France for the launch of UPI at the iconic landmark. UPI enables Indian tourists to make payments by scanning a QR code on the merchant’s website. The partnership between NPCI International Payments (NIPL) and French company Lyra facilitated the acceptance of UPI in France. The service will soon be expanded to other merchants in the tourism and retail sectors across Europe.
