JAMMU, Feb 8: Various political parties and social organisations have strongly condemned the killing of two Punjabi workers by militants in Kashmir yesterday and demanded intensification of anti militancy operations in entire Valley to curb their activities.
Rashtriya Bajrang Dal activists led by their leader Rakesh Bajrangi held a protest demonstration here today against Pakistan and militants.
The irate RBD activists raising anti Pak slogans they also torched the Pak flag .
“The targeted killings have begun again. Two non locals , including a Sikh and a Hindu were killed in targeted killing. The aim is to create fear and force non locals to flee Kashmir. This won’t happen again, said Rakesh Bajrangi president RBD.
He said that Pakistan and its terror infrastructure is trying to revive terrorism in Kashmir.
This is an attempt to create fear psychosis among the minorities in the Valley. They will not be allowed to be successful again’’, he added.
To express solidarity with the families of the two Punjab residents killed on Wednesday evening in Srinagar by militants, hundreds of people in North Kashmir district held a candle march today.
Around 6:00 pm, hundreds of people including the local residents, Members of Civil Society Kupwara, traders, and transporters took out a candle march from Kupwara Bus Stand which culminated at Fountain Chowk Rigipora after passing through Kupwara By-Pass.
The protesters denounced the attack and expressed solidarity with the families of the civilians killed.
Terming the killing an unfortunate and dark chapter in Kashmir, protestors said that such incidents create sadness and distress among people of Kashmir.
The protesters said that people want to live in peace and harmony. They said that such unfortunate incidents should not take place as every human life is precious.
The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) Jammu has also strongly condemned the dastardly killing of two non local youth in Shalla Kadal area of Habbakadal in Srinagar Kashmir. The KPS in its Executive meeting here today presided over by K K Khosa president of the Sabha termed the killings while being highly disappointing have once again brought up the burning issues of targeted killings of minorities and non locals to the fore. After a lull of a few months the forces of destabilization which have been contained to a large extent seem to be planning to again create unrest and disturbance perhaps in view of the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.
Sabha appealed the GOI and the UT Government to further intensify their measures to control these antinational forces so that the common citizens including the minorities feel reassured about their safety and well-being. The members of the Sabha extended their condolences to the bereaved families and requested the Lt.Governor, Manoj Sinha to sanction adequate compensation for the next of kin of the deceased.
The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of its president Ashok Gupta took out a protest rally here against the killing of Amritpal Singh and torched the Pakistan flag.
The party workers raised slogans Pakistan Hai Hai while condemning the dastardly act.
Ashok Gupta in his address stated that yesterday was Shab e Meraj and on such an auspicious day terrorist killed non locals which shows their true colour as they have no religion and faith.
Gupta said that that act of the militants is not only gruesome, brutal or barbaric, but satanic too.
He stated that the time was ripe for all the parties to be united for defeating the nefarious designs of the militants and inhumane attitude of Pakistan.
Sikh Progressive Front has also expressed its shock and anger over the killing of two non locals including a Sikh from Punjab at Srinagar by militants yesterday.
Balvinder Singh, president of the Sikh Progressive Front, convened an urgent meeting with prominent members including Manjit Singh, general secretary, Rajinder Singh, joint secretary, Janak Singh, Beant Singh, Sharanjit Singh, Manmohan Singh, Tejinder Singh, member DGPC and Dilbag Singh, among others in which the brutal killing of innocent Amritpal Singh and Rohit Sharma in Srinagar yesterday was strongly condemned.
The killing of innocent persons is a shameful act in civilized society, especially when members of the minority community are being targeted despite the tall claims made by the JKUT administration regarding the eradication of terrorism in UT, the meeting said.

An emergency meeting of Sikh United Front J&K an amalgam of various Sikh organizations J&K was held under the chairmanship of Sudershan Singh Wazir Chairman Sikh United front J&K. While speaking on the occasion, Wazir strongly condemns the targeted killings of two non local hailing from Punjab who were shot dead by terrorists at Shalla Kadal area in Srinagar.
Wazir, further said that the incident is distressing to see the deteriorating situation in Kashmir where a minority is the latest target of the terrorists.
Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh today vigorously condemned the killing of two workers hailing from Punjab in Srinagar, and said that the entities inimical to peace are hell bent to again revive terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Slamming the reprehensible action of the violence mongers, the senior political leader urged the Government to ensure that all the perpetrators of the vicious cycle of violence in J&K should be taken to task as soon as possible.
Vikramaditya Singh also conveyed sympathies to the grieving families and prayed to God to grant eternal peace to the departed souls.
