UDHAMPUR, Apr 9: Udhampur Police rescued 45 bovines and seized two vehicles, which were being used for the smuggling.
Police team of Police Station Rehambal, led by Inspector Nishad Ahmed intercepted two Truck bearing registration numbers JK02AU 4456 and JK19A- 7444. During checking, 45 bovine animals were found loaded in these vehicles without any valid permission.
Police rescued the animals and arrested one of the drivers while the other managed to flee after leaving behind the vehicle on road. The arrested person was identified as Fareed Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani of Anantnag.
In this regard, two cases FIRs under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Rehambal.
