Thieves Gang Busted, Stolen Property Recovered In J&K’s Ganderbal

SRINAGAR, June 16: A gang of thieves involved in various thefts were arrested and police in Jammu Kashmir’s Ganderbal district recovered stolen property including gold ornaments worth in lakhs.

The police on Sunday said Lar police station received a written complaint on April 18 regarding a theft at a house when gold items and cash were looted.
A case was registered and during investigation some suspects were narrowed down to. During the questioning of Tariq Ahmad Rather and Manzoor Ahmad Chopan, they admitted to the crime.
“The duo revealed that they along with their other associates, who had fled to Kargil, had carried out some more thefts.
Three more accused — Sheraz Ahmad Guroo, Showket Ahmad Saad and a juvenile were apprehended.
Stolen property worth in lakhs including cash amount of Rs 10,000, seven gold rings, four heavy gold earrings, eight golden earrings, a gold broach among others were recovered from their possession.
Further investigation was underway.
