PDA working to promote, develop Patnitop as a Tourist circuit: CEO

10th International Yoga Day celebrated with gaiety at Patnitop

10th International Yoga Day was celebrated at main Meadow Patnitop. The event was a collaborative effort of District Administration, Udhampur and Ramban, Patnitop Development Authority and Directorate of Tourism, Jammu. The event was aligned with this year’s theme for International Yoga Day, that is, ‘Yoga for Self and Society’.
It united nearly two thousand individuals from all walks of life and age groups, including the visiting tourists from J&K and outside J&K, in the Main Meadow of Patnitop, which provided an ideal setting for practicing yoga and connecting with mother nature.
During the event, CEO, PDA highlighted the benefits of the ancient Indian practice of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
STATE TIMES team while covering the event had an exclusive interaction with CEO, PDA Devender Singh Bhau. While talking to STATE TIMES, CEO Bhau said, “I appeal all to come to Patnitop and enjoy the beauty of nature. As far as development is concerned, we are planning to start Sanitation drive, attracting tourist towards Gandola as few people know about it. This is the highest Gandola of Asia and its just 2 hrs drive from Jammu. We are promoting Patnitop as a destination and we are working towards it. PDA is working to provide all the amenities to visitors coming here and make their trip memorable.”
Devender Singh Bhau further shared, “Jal Shati Dept has approved a scheme to deal with Water crisis in Patnitop and we are hopeful that soon this problem will be solved. We are working on Sudhmahadev road and as we all know construction of Doda Highway is underway and it will be completed in one year.”
On illegal construction in Patnitop, CEO shared, “We are dealing strictly with illegal constructions and moreover, we have also demolished few illegal structures. If anyone wants to do construction here, he needs to get prior permissions otherwise strict action will be taken.”
He further added that Patnitop Development Authority is trying to promote Patnitop as a Tourist circuit and we are working to increase the footfall of tourists and locals here. There are so many tourists attractions like Nag Temple, Sanasar, Mantalai, Sudhmahadev etc. It’s a beautiful place and people must come and enjoy the beauty of nature.
