Exhibition cricket match held

BHADERWAH, June 30: Senior cricketer Sheikh Shanawaz hosted a one-day cricket exhibition match to pay tribute to the late legendary cricketer and social activist, Manjeet Singh. The match held at Govt PG College Ground Bhaderwah saw the CMO Office Doda team face off against SDH Bhaderwah.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest Surinder Singh Thakur, father of late Manjeet Singh, along with dignitaries including CMO Dr Om Kumar, BMO Bhaderwah Dr Mohd Ashraf, Lavinder Singh, Ravi Thakur and others.
Batting first, CMO Doda set a target of 146 runs, with Dr. Waseem Natnoo scoring 40 runs and Irfan Thukar added 18 runs. Kalwant Singh from SDH Bhaderwah took 3 wickets, while Dr. Subhash Sharma and Mehboob Ahmed claimed 2 wickets each. In response, SDH Bhaderwah managed to score only 137 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing by 8 runs. Mohammad Faddi and Mehboob Ahmed were the top scorers for SDH Bhaderwah with 24 and 22 runs respectively.
Dr. Waseem Natnoo was named Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance. During the prize distribution ceremony, Surinder Singh Thakur distributed trophies to both teams and praised the organizers’ efforts. The match was officiated by Haddi Rishoo, Naveed Khan and Mohd Haris.
