NC MP vitiating atmosphere: Varinder

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, June 30: Co-convenor Professional Cell of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr Varinder Sharma criticised National Conference (NC) Member Parliament (MP), Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi for showering unnecessary advises on Om Birla, the three-time MP from Kota Lok Sabha constituency and current Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
In a statement issued here, today he said that the first time MP from Srinagar was trying to play to the gallery by telling the Speaker about his responsibilities as to how the proceedings of Lok Sabha are conducted which was uncalled for.
Dr Varinder Sharma also criticised newly elected MP for raising controversial issues in the House in his debut speech and trying to vitiate the atmosphere. He said that newly elected NC MP unnecessarily tried to rope in the issue of Article 370, a controversial provision, that has been debated over multiple times in both the houses before its abrogation by Constitutional methods with President of India putting her final seal of approval on the decision and also having been upheld by the Supreme Court of India as well.
Dr Varinder said, Aga Syed was unjust in telling the Speaker that the Bill of abrogation of Article 370 in J&K was placed before the House within a minute and then subsequently passed in 30 minutes to which Speaker categorically reminded the MP saying, “He doesn’t have the knowledge that the Bill was debated for nine and a half long hours,”.
