Congress and opposition parties are systematically insulting Sanatan and Hindus: Chugh

  • It is unfortunate and condemnable for Rahul Gandhi to call Hindus who consider the world a family as violent in the House: Chugh

  • Rahul Gandhi and Congress should publicly apologize to the country: Chugh

CHANDIGARH: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, on Tuesday fiercely targeted the irresponsible and malicious statements of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi.

Chugh, while talking to the press, said that Parliament is not run by any leader or family, but by rules and behavior. Rahul Gandhi has completely lowered the level of parliamentary democracy. The way Lord Shankar’s picture was being shown in Parliament was extremely objectionable.

Questioning the double character of the Congress Party, Chugh said that it is unfortunate that the Congress, which was responsible for the 1984 massacre of Sikhs who instigated riots in the country and burnt Gurudwaras, is today talking about non-violence. The country should also know whether Congress had a role in safely evacuating the culprit of Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984 from the country.

Chugh further said that Rahul Gandhi has continuously misled the House, today in the Parliament Rahul Gandhi has grossly insulted the Hindu society by calling the entire Hindu society violent and untruthful. Congress has also not done this for the first time. In 2010, the then Home Minister P Chidambaram had called Hindus terrorists. In 2013, former Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had also described Hindus as terrorists. In 2021, Rahul Gandhi had said that Hindutva people should be thrown out of the country and today he called all Hindus untruthful and violent. Rahul Gandhi has worked to degrade and weaken the dignity of the post of Leader of Opposition. The entire country is saddened by this statement of Rahul Gandhi and the amount of condemnation of this statement is less. Describing Hindus as violent and untruthful, putting up pictures of God during Parliament debates and linking politics with it does not befit an opposition leader, Tarun Chugh said, adding “Rahul Gandhi did not take any responsibility even when he was in power. But today, even after assuming any responsibility for the first time, Rahul Gandhi made very irresponsible statements. Rahul Gandhi’s statement on Agniveer Yojana is also completely false, conspiratorial and an insult to the army, it is of the lowest level. The Congress party has earlier also raised questions on the Army and tried to confuse the country.”

Chugh said that Rahul Gandhi also made irresponsible remarks on the constitutional post of Lok Sabha Speaker, which is very sad. Rahul Gandhi himself had torn the copy of the ordinance passed by his party’s coalition government in the Press Club. The character of Congress has been to weaken the constitutional systems of the country. Indira Gandhi also worked to weaken the constitutional systems of the country like Parliament, judicial system and bureaucracy. Rahul Gandhi cannot understand the behavior done according to Indian culture, because he has no knowledge about the culture.

Chugh said that since 2004, when Rahul Gandhi was not holding any post, his behavior reflected theatrics and mockery. But today Rahul Gandhi is the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha and holds a constitutional post, so we are expecting that he will bring positive changes in his behavior and conduct with maturity. “What we have seen today during Rahul Gandhi’s speech was that he was repeatedly told from the chair of the presiding officer that he should not argue and turn his back towards the speaker while speaking, this is an insult to the House,” Chugh added.
