JAMMU, July 4: Police in Jammu’s Janipur area claimed today they have arrested two bike lifters and recovered from their possession the stolen two-wheelers.
A police official said that on May 28, 2024, one Rattan Lal Pandita son of Janki Nath Pandita of Butta Nagar, Janipur, Jammu, lodged a complaint with Police Station Janipur alleging theft of his Activa Scooty.
On receipt of the complaint, he said, a case FIR number 65/2024 Under Section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and further investigation started.
During the course of investigation, the police official further said two suspects identified as Nikhil Goswami and Rohan Goswami of Dhayan Sar Bari Brahamana, Samba, were detained and put to questioning.
During sustained questioning, the siblings confessed to have stolen the scooty along with another motorcycle stolen from Bari Brahamana area, which was seized from their possession in accordance with the law.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police official.
