JAMMU, July 4: National general secretary of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and former JKPYC chief, Uday Bhanu Chib today accused the BJP of misrule over the past decade, asserting that the party has not only failed to fulfil its promises but has also exacerbated the difficulties faced by the common people.
While addressing a meeting in Ward No. 36, Jammu North Assembly segment, here today, the Youth Congress leader said that people’s miseries have increased manifold in the last 10 years under BJP rule, emphasizing the government’s inability to deliver on its commitments.
Uday Chib highlighted the BJP’s promise from 2014 to create two crore jobs annually and bring ‘Achhe Din’ (good days) for the common people. However, he argued that the reality has been starkly different. “The Modi Government has only brought many miseries for the common people through huge taxations amidst unprecedented price hikes and record unemployment,” he said.
IYC leader further criticized the Government for a series of recruitment scams, which he claimed have left the youth frustrated and disillusioned. He also highlighted that the introduction of property tax and Smart Meters on water will further add to the burden on common people.
He pointed out that the Government’s promises of transparency and efficiency have fallen flat, as evidenced by the persistent corruption and mismanagement. “The youth are losing hope in the system, and the common people are struggling to make both ends meet. It’s high time the Government acts responsibly and addresses these pressing issues,” he concluded.
The senior Youth Congress leader appealed to the people to support the Congress Party in the ensuing Assembly polls, urging them to vote for change and a better future. “It is time for the people to make their voices heard and choose a Government that truly works for their welfare,” he emphasized.
Today’s meeting was organised by Karan, Youth Congress president Ward No 36. Among those who were present in the meeting include Soam Nath, Parshotam Singh, Surinder Kumar, TN Sharma, Pummy Manhas, Kaka Ram and others.
