JAMMU, July 4: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar, conducted a tour of the border areas under the jurisdiction of Police Stations RS Pura and Arnia.
As per a handout, the visit aimed at reviewing the security scenario and to strengthen the border grid in the Jammu district.
Accompanied by SP Headquarters Jammu and SDPO RS Pura, along with SHOs of Arnia and RS Pura Police Stations, Dr Vinod Kumar, the SSP Jammu, inspected the Border Police Post (BPP) Allah and Border Police Post Agra Check.
The SSP assessed the existing boarding and logistic infrastructure with a view to upgrading and enhancing the border grid’s capabilities.
“This exercise was a part of district-wide initiative with a special focus on border areas,” the statement said.
Expressing satisfaction with the functioning of the Border Police Posts, the SSP Jammu instructed officers to work with increased commitment and dedication.
He assured further strengthening of the BPPs in the coming days.
Notably, the Border Police Posts serve as the third line of defence, following the BSF and Army, and are currently supported by VDGs along with regular manpower.
