POONCH: After Saqlain Tariq, another young volleyball player from the Pir Panjal has earned the India tag and shall represent the country soon in an under-20 international event.
Kartik Sharma of village Bagnoti in district Rajouri has been selected in the Indian under-20 team which is going to participate in the Asian Volleyball Championship slated to be held in Indonesia from July 23 to July 30.
“As incharge of Volleyball Association of District Rajouri, I feel immense pleasure to inform that continued efforts at the grass root level finally paid the dividends,” said Mohd Tariq, the man behind popularity of the game of Volleyball in the Pir Panjal.
Important to mention here that Kartik has already won a Bronze medal in the Asian Volleyball Championship in under-18 age group in 2023.
Meanwhile, Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) complimented Kartik and his family for the achievement and praised the working the district association.
