Jammu, July 26: The 2nd J&K Ranking Table Tennis Championship-2024 commenced at the Indoor Sports Complex of M.A. Stadium, here today. The tournament was inaugurated by Rajeev Sharma, Member Sports Council, J&K, in the presence of a distinguished gathering of sports enthusiasts. Mohd Haneif , Chief Sports Officer was the guest of honour.
Organized by J&K Table Tennis Association with the support of the J&K Sports Council, the championship has attracted over 300 players competing across various age groups. The event commenced with the Under-11 boys and girls matches, showcasing the budding talent in the region.
In his opening speech, Rajeev Sharma lauded the organizers for their efforts and extended his best wishes to the participants. He emphasized the significance of sports in shaping young lives and praised the spirit of the young players embarking on their athletic journeys.
Prominent figures present at the event included Satish Gupta, Satvir Singh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh and Sheetal Gandotra. The matches are being officiated by Ankit Sharma and Meenu Rajesh, ensuring a smooth and fair competition.
