Tribute paid to heroes, martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas

JAMMU, July 26: Tribute were paid to heroes and martyrs of the Kargil war by various social and political organisations, here today.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today paid a rich tribute to the Army Jawans, who sacrificed their life during the Kargil operation and said that the nation would always remain indebted to them for protecting their motherland.
Congress party also paid their tribute to the soldiers martyred in the Kargil war in 1999 and remembered their contribution to the country. State Congress Committee Working President and former minister Raman Bhalla said that the supreme sacrifice given by the martyrs of Kargil for the country will be remembered by all our future generations and it can never be forgotten.
BJP J&K General Secretary and Former MLC Vibodh Gupta paid homage to the Kargil war martyr Shaheed Hav. Rajinder Singh in Nagrota, Basholi. He also paid tributes to other officers and soldiers of the armed forces who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation in the Kargil war.
Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president of the Dogra Sadar Sabha, along with members of the Sabha, paid heartfelt tribute to the Kargil War heroes and martyrs. He also threw light on the role of porters who also played an important role in helping our soldiers in this whole difficult terrain.
Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Sc. College, along with NCC Cadets organized a candle light march and paid floral tribute to the brave Kargil Martyrs, who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil war in 1999.
MV International School honoured the valour and sacrifice of Indian soldiers by celebrating the Kargil Vijay Diwas in school today. The event was aimed to educate and inspire students about the heroic deeds of soldiers during the 1999 Kargil War. Chairman of school Hira Lal Abrol, Director Gourav Abrol, principal & staff were also present on the occasion.
In commemoration of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Dean Students Welfare Department of Cluster University of Jammu hosted a Documentary Screening of documentary of Hav. Madan Lal Choudhary, Vir Chakra of 18 Grenadier Martyr of Kargil war in 1999.
In observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Trust organised a plantation drive. On the occasion, plants were also distributed by Rohit Shastri, president of the trust.
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Kashmiri Pandit Sabha remembered the supreme sacrifices of our Jawans, made in defending the nation and resolved that the nation will always remember the sacrifices made in the line of duty and that the debt could never be repaid.
The students, teachers, and management of Rich Harvest School also paid tribute to the brave souls of Kargil. Principal, Anita Bhatia delivered an emotional speech, narrating the sacrifices of soldiers’ mothers and wives, and sharing the heroic story of Captain Vikram Batra, which left everyone deeply moved.
Sunil Dimple, president mission statehood also paid tribute to the heroes of the Kargil war Captain Vikram Batra and other martyrs.
Narinder Singh Bhau, revered leader from the Chhamb Assembly constituency, marked the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with a poignant Tirangaa Rally, showcasing solidarity and homage to the brave soldiers of the Kargil War.
Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, paid heartfelt tribute to the Kargil Martyrs and expressed profound respect and admiration for the valour and sacrifice of the Kargil heroes.
NCC Army wing of 2nd Bn NCC Unit in collaboration with the NSS Unit and Naval Unit of MAM College, organized a series of activities to commemorate the Kargil Vijay Diwas. Principal, Prof.(Dr). B. B. Anand highlighted the importance of celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas and remembering the supreme sacrifices of the Indian soldiers.
To commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), Executive Director Northern Region-II, Rajesh Kumar along with senior officers and employees paid their tribute to Indian soldiers’ staunch bravery and sacrifices during the intense three-month-long war.
Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu & Kashmir Circle today released the special cancellation on Kargil Vijay Diwas at Srinagar to commemorate the bravery and the sacrifices of Hero’s of the Kargil War.
To honour the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers, a large number of people participated a function organised by Ex-servicemen league Doda. Ex-Servicemen League members along with Police, Students and general public pay homage to the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil Conflict in 1999.
The Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), JU, in collaboration with the Jammu Kashmir Study Centre (JKSC) organized a talk on the ’25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas’. Col. (Retd.) Ajay Raina, a veteran of the Kargil War recounted the contributions of various security agencies and underscored the crucial role of artillery and air force in the conflict. He also addressed post-Kargil border management developments and the importance of learning from history to avoid future mistakes.
The Silver Jubilee of the Kargil Vijay Diwas was also commemorated with great enthusiasm and patriotism in Leh. The EC for Minorities, LAHDC, Leh, Ghulam Mehdi highlighted the importance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices of our brave soldiers and said, “We must continue to draw inspiration from their courage and valor, and work towards a stronger and more united India.”
The 13th Guard Snow Leopard Brigade also organised a function to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas at Nyoma.
Brigade Commander of the 13th Guard Snow Leopard delivered a speech reflecting on the strategic importance of the Kargil victory and the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army. A special highlight of the event was the attendance of 20 ex-servicemen, 5 of which served during the Kargil war.
On the momentous occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a solemn ceremony was organized by the esteemed Sant Shri Balak Yogeshwar Dass ji Maharaj at Pouni War Memorial. Families of martyrs from the Jammu province convened to express their heartfelt gratitude and pay homage to the valiant soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Kargil War.
