JAMMU, July 27: The 2nd J&K Table Tennis Ranking Championship 2024 has reached its climax, with Aarav Gandotra of K C Public School set to face Saiyam Nischel for the under-11 boys’ title.
Gandotra secured his final spot after a gripping semi-final match against Satvik Nischel, winning three games to two. Meanwhile, top-seeded Saiyam Nischel showcased his dominant form by defeating Zain in straight sets, three games to nil.
In the girls’ under-11 category, top seed Syrah Dewan swiftly advanced to the finals, eliminating her opponents with ease. She will compete against Alena Arora, who narrowly won her semi-final against Ridhime, three games to two.
The results in Hopes Girls (Under 11) Semi-Finals: Syrah Dewan defeated Adhira Singh 3-0; Alena Arora beat Ridhime 3-1. Hopes Boys (Under 11) Semi-Finals: Saiyam Nischel defeated Zain 3-0; Aarav Gandotra beat Satvik Nischel 3-2. Cadet Girls (Under 13) Quarterfinals: Myrah beat Anvi 3-0, Syrah Dewan beat Anshika 3-0, Srishti beat Sanvi 3-0, Alena Arora beat Ridhime 3-1
Cadet Boys (Under 13) Quarterfinals: Saiyam Nischel beat Aryaman 3-0, Ishaan beat Lakshy Rajput 3-1, Advik beat Prajwal 3-1, Ahaan beat Samar 3-2. Sub Junior (Under 15) Girls Round 1: Syrah Dewan beat Akriti 3-0, Alena Arora beat Anvi 3-0, Gunjan beat Aditri 3-0, Sanvi beat Samaira 3-0, Kritika beat Himanika 3-1
Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma and Vasu Dewan were present on the occassion. The matches were officiated by Meenu Rajesh.
