SRINAGAR, Sep 19: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not have anything to showcase except targeting the three political families in Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar made these remarks in reply to a question that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election rally in Srinagar today said that the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and Congress “destroyed” Jammu and Kashmir.
“What can we expect from the BJP?… BJP does not have anything to showcase from the past 5 years”, he told media persons in Budgam district.
The NC Vice President is contesting the assembly election from Budgam and Ganderbal in central Kashmir districts where voting will take place in the second phase on September 25.
“…I do not know what Modi said today in Srinagar but I can say with a guarantee that he must have spoken on the three families”, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said. ”But he didn’t have spoken on how the last 5-6 years have been wasted in J&K and the terrorism again visible in Jammu division besides the anger of people”.
He said the people of south Kashmir voted yesterday during the first phase of the assembly election in favour of the National Conference and nobody could ignore.
In reply to another question Omar said that “when was the last time the Prime Minister gave an answer to a question in the Parliament? I have never heard Modi replying to any question in the parliament”.
“We are the people who give answers to all the questions after winning the elections, we do not hide anywhere”, the NC Vice President asserted.
When asked that Pakistan’s foreign Minister Khawaja Ashif had said that they are on the same page of NC, PDP and Congress, the former CM said “who is Khawaja Asif…What Pakistan has to take with us. We are not part of Pakistan. Let them take care of their own country and let us take care of our own”.
Omar said that “Pakistan does not need to interfere or make comments in our elections and I don’t think it is an appropriate thing..let them safeguard their own democracy and we are participating in our own democratic process”. (Agencies)
