JUIT celebrates Engineer’s Day with grand event ‘Eureka’

JAMMU, Sept 19: Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) celebrated Engineer’s Day with great enthusiasm, hosting a vibrant event named ‘Eureka’.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Shimla, the Rotaract Club of Waknaghat, and JUIT’s Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Education, the event aimed to honor the contributions of engineers while fostering innovative thinking among the next generation of problem-solvers.
The event was graced by the presence of Rakesh Kumar Thakur, a distinguished scientist associated with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), who served as the chief guest. During his keynote address, Thakur motivated participants to explore new horizons in the fields of engineering and innovation. His words encouraged students and faculty alike to push the boundaries of technological advancements and continue their pursuit of knowledge and invention.
One of the key highlights of ‘Eureka’ was the project presentation competition, wherein students from various years showcased their innovative ideas and projects. A panel of experts carefully evaluated each project, assessing them based on creativity, practicality, and potential impact. The competition concluded with the announcement of the winners, who were recognized for their exceptional contributions to engineering and innovation.
The first position was secured by Team Obscura, which was awarded Rs 5000, Team Nirvana claimed the second position with a prize of Rs 3000, while Team Bug Brigade secured the third position and was awarded Rs 2000.
The event concluded with a special felicitation ceremony honoring all the engineers present. JUIT’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Rajendra Kumar Sharma, delivered closing remarks, emphasizing the critical role engineers play in shaping the future and driving societal progress. Dr Sharma highlighted the importance of passion and creativity in advancing technological developments and encourage students to contribute meaningfully to the field.
