RAMBAN, Sept 22: Police here today has solved a fake accident and arrested four persons in this regard.
As per the case on the morning of September 14, 2024 an information was received at Police Station Ramsoo through reliable sources that a truck bearing registration number JK20C-3611 driven by Mohd Shabir, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Tuli, Reasi while on its way from Jammu to Srinagar rolled down into a deep gorge at Panthyal area on NH-44.
On the basis of information a case in FIR-106/2024 U/S 281 BNS was registered at Police Station Ramsoo and cops led by SDPO Banihal along with SHO Ramsoo visited the spot and noticed some foul play.
Sensing gravity, SSP Ramban, Kulbir Singh constituted a special police team to ascertain the fact behind the fake accident.
After investigation driver of the truck Mohd Shabir was traced.
During questioning he disclosed that on September 12, 2024, on the directions of Mohd Abdullah, son of Abdul, resident of Tuli, District Reasi, who was owner of the truck, he loaded dry fruits (400 boxes) from Gangyal for Srinagar.
During the intervening night of September 12-13, the consignment of dry fruits which was to be delivered at Srinagar but it was shifted to another truck near Ban Toll Plaza area by the owner of the Truck along with two more persons and only 10-15 boxes were kept in the truck to be delivered at Srinagar.
The owner of the truck hatched a criminal conspiracy to swindle the consignment of dry fruits and he directed the truck driver to manage the accident preferably in Panthyal area which he did and spread 10 to 15 dry fruits boxes at the accident site so that the accident may appear natural.
The Police team arrested four persons involved in the crime and seized the dry fruits boxes and vehicles involved in the crime from Buddal area in Rajouri.
The arrested persons were Mohd Shabir, son of Gh. Nabi; Mohd Abdullah, son of Abdul and Ayaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Afzal—all residents of Tuli, Reasi and Ibrar Ali, son of Mohd Azim, resident of Ward No. 6 Nowshera.
Investigations in the case were going on.
